ENGINEERING AS AN ARTFORM

Jesefa Templo is a registered architect in the state of New York and Texas. Her experience combines both Architecture and Structural Engineering, with 15+ years’ experience in architectural design and the building construction industry. Her highly technical background and driven artistic outlook provide creative problem solving and solutions to her projects.

Throughout her career, she explores the parallels between architecture and engineering; art and science; and the subjective vs objective. She celebrates her structural engineering background by continuing to explore and push the limits of both design and tectonic expression. Through her work and research, she believes that qualitative and quantitative measures should be holistically integrated to evoke a higher level of consciousness in the user. One of her major career objectives is to continue to explore this interdisciplinary dynamic of design and research.

Furthermore, she is interested in contributing to a strong diverse, group of individuals, representing the women in the architectural field. Being a minority woman, she aims to use her position, experience and skillsets to empower other women and minorities in the design industry. She is passionate about fostering an equitable and diverse work environment, elevating cultural awareness, and advancing fair and inclusive work practices.
