“By using the corridors above the suburban railways, we could create a world-class
network of safe, car-free cycle routes that are ideally located for commuters.”
--Lord Norman Foster
How can we begin stitching the urban fabric between Victoria Station, Vauxhall Station and the Battersea Station along the Thames River and its interstitial spaces between? The concept relied heavily on the users and how they will occupy the public spaces between new and old developments and their connections on a horizontal and vertical level. Giving back to the public realm meant introducing new experiences through elevated pathways and bike lanes that frame new vignettes of the city. In order to revitalize and connect the Battersea Station, the idea was to take the elevated bike lanes and pathways from Victoria Station, extend them over the Thames River, piercing into the Battersea Station and forcing the user to experience the historical structure from a different perspective.
