PERSONAL WORKS

UTSOA | Draw BLOOD  | John Blood | Graphite | Fall 2011
During John Blood’s architectural drawing class, two exercises entailed drawing a mechanical object of our choice. The challenge was capturing the essence of the mechanism itself, in this case an egg beater. Fascinated by the intricate layers and depth of the handheld apparatus, the first assignment required us to become acquainted with the object--drawing a plan, section, and elevation. The second assignment was more in depth, representing in our understanding the power of the mechanism using a three point perspective in a freehand manner.

UTASOA | Conceptual Drawing | Jason Cantrell | Mixed Media | Spring 2011

In Jason Cantrell’s conceptual drawing course at UT Arlington, we were required to map the journey from our home to school. Living about ten miles from school, located around highway 360 and highway 183 in Grand Prairie, I became more aware of my surroundings as I ventured to school every day. Crossing paths with Six Flags over Texas, cantilevered highway signs, and finally ending with the UTA Maverick’s elevated pedestrian bridge, I found a common theme between all these elements: their exposed and prominent structure.

UTSOA | Digital Form Generation and Manipulation | Clay Shortall | Mixed Media | Summer 2012

Clay Shortall’s summer course specialized in the advancement of technology and software that the architectural realm is currently facing.  In this course, we learned Rhino, Grasshopper, V-Ray for Rhino and became introduced to processing.  In the first assignment we were asked to conceptually model in Rhino an image of our choice.  The second assignment was a continuation of the first, modeling the same image using Grasshopper.
